Pajama Day (again)

Due to the huge amount of box tops, soup labels, and milk caps that have been collected school wide, the POQA is awarding the entire school a special pajama day!  All students are invited to wear their pajamas on Friday December 17, 2010. We will also be having Christmas parties on that day. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks, Mrs. Chidester

The Christmas Performance

There has been some confusion on the Christmas performance so I wanted to, hopefully, clear it up. We are not having a Christmas performance. We are however producing a Christmas movie in which all of the children will have a part. We had hoped to keep a secret from you parents so that you would be surprised while watching the movie. WE have spent the last few days recording the movie with Miss Larkin's class. The movie will be available for you to download sometime next week. It is a school wide project, so the exact date it will be released is out of my hands. Your children are darling in the movie and I am almost as excited as all of you to see the final edited version. We will be watching the movie in class on Tuesday last thing before we leave (approx. 11:00 for the am class and 2:40 for the pm class). Parents are welcome to come in a little early to watch the premiere with their kids. It may be a little crowded, but it will be fun for the kids to get to see the movie with their class. If you have any other questions, please e-mail me and I will be happy to try and answer them for you.

Thanks, Mrs. Chidester

Christmas Break:

Parents;

Please let me know if you will be leaving early for Christmas break. I want to make sure that all the kids get their gift from me and take home their gift for you. If you are leaving, please drop me an e-mail as to when you are leaving so I make sure your kids take everything home before then. Thanks again for all you do, and for all your support.

Artist Needed:

I am looking for a parent volunteer to teach art every other Wednesday from 2:25-2:55 during the afternoon class. You do not need to be a real artist, just be willing to teach simple art concepts to children. Subjects like the color wheel, mixing colors, and fun simple art projects would be perfect. If no one volunteers your children will be forced to suffer through my LAME attempt a being an artist!!! Just kidding, this is just a great way to be involved in your child's classroom. If you are interested, let me know. Thanks for all you do!

Butter......

It worked....we made butter from nothing but a little cream and some salt. The kids did great shaking the bottles until...TA DA...butter.  Pilgrim day was loads of fun, can't wait to see what happens on Native American Day. Here are some pictures of the butter making experience. I have also included the recipe....some of your kids insisted it needed to be posted so that they could make butter for their parents.  Good luck. Add 1 cup heavy whipping cream and a pinch of salt to a tightly sealing jar. Shake, shake and then shake some more. You will know you are done when there is a lump of butter floating around in your jar. ENJOY!!!!
